This book comprises a collection of photographs taken around my flat. The photographs reveal various domestic objects (from socks to scissors, paints to pots, as well as more unusual items which have somehow snuck their way into my life) in their usual setting, but arranged in an unusual way. For example, the books on my bookshelf are arranged in colour order; the dials on the cooker read 1 to 5 from left to right; there are faces in the cupboard and so on. Approximately 100 photographs of ‘putting my house in order’ are printed on index cards, which are themselves labelled, ordered and divided up into alphabetical sections.
